SEN Teaching Assistant - Bradford

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant on a full time basis, to work in an Ofsted graded "good" special school in the Heaton area of Bradford.
The school caters for pupils aged between 5 and 16, all of whom have an Education, Health Care Plan to meet their additional needs, which include Autism; Speech, Language and Communication Needs; Global Developmental Delay; and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
The successful applicant will have a flexible nature and be prepared to cover across all year groups (KS1 - KS4) as needed. Your role will include supporting class teachers to effectively manage behaviour, and to engage and interact with the children to enable them to be able to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. The role is temporary for one term covering a long term absence but may extent until the end of the academic year with opportunities of a permanent contact.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
- School based SEN experience
- Makaton experience or BSL (to any level)
- Autism Awareness/ASC Training
- Team Teach qualification (desired)
You will support the schools vision to enable all children to achieve their potential, assessing individual needs, and tailoring the environment and learning activities to support each child's learning and development. Located in Heaton, the school is easily accessible to and from the M606 and benefits from frequent inner city public transport links.
