SEN teaching assistant - Bolton

  • Do you have a passion for supporting children through their learning journey?
  • Do you have experience of leading 1:1 and small group interventions?
  • Have you previously worked across Key Stage 1 or 2?

Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a small primary school in Little Lever, Bolton (BL3) area, looking for a teaching assistant with previous SEN experience. The primary school has a large number of pupils with Special Educational Needs and the Head teacher is looking for a candidate to come and hit the ground running.

The role will be working with a pupil in Year 4 with ADHD and learning difficulties on a 1:1 basis. The pupil has been struggling to concentrate in the class room and needs emotional support to help raise attainment in the class room. Due to challenging behaviour shown in the class room, the Head teacher is looking for a strong teaching assistant with SEN experience. The child has a strong passion for sport and physical activities so teaching assistants with sporting backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

A successful primary school applicant should:

  • Be creative, enthusiastic and engaging
  • Have a strong passion for helping pupils to succeed in what they do
  • Hold a Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification or Degree with relevant experience
  • Have previous experience working with pupils with special educational needs
  • Be flexible and adaptable
  • Team Teach training is desirable but not essential

The Bury primary school is larger than average and is an inclusive and happy school which focuses on ensuring all their pupils are happy, safe and reach their individual potential. It not only aims to develop positive attitudes to the pupils in school and to the communities they contribute too.

  • Start date – 18th November 2019
  • Salary - GBP285 - GBP300 a week
  • Little Lever, Bolton primary school
