SEN Teacher required in Bradford

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint an outstanding, creative teacher for a successful and well established SEN School in Bradford. The school caters for pupils aged 11-19 with a range of Special Educational Needs including Autism Spectrum Conditions, Global Developmental Delay, and Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities.

Although catering for secondary aged pupils, the school follow a primary model. Teachers will be responsible for one class of pupils, grouped on their needs and abilities, and will teach across the curriculum. You will therefore have strong subject knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and of meeting the needs of SEN Learners.

Learning opportunities are appropriately structured for students throughout their school journeys to enable them to become valued members of the wider community with positive self-worth. They are supported to reach their full potential within a gradient of independence, confidence and resilience so that they have the ability to face the challenges of adult life. You will work with colleagues to deliver plans that cater for the needs of all learners and will be committed to meeting the ethos of the school, with pastoral responsibilities in addition to class teaching.

The successful applicant will have previous experience of working with pupils with complex needs and will be able to evidence planning and delivering an engaging and well differentiated curriculum.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Possession of a formal teaching qualification with QTS (applications will be considered from Primary and Secondary teachers with any subject specialism)
  • Experience of working with students with complex needs (PMLD/SLD/MLD/ASC)
  • Evidence of delivering a well differentiated curriculum
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to be part of a great team
