Teaching Personnel are looking for SEN Teachers to work in a LE10 Special School based in Leicestershire. The school is an outstanding special school which caters to the ages 3 to 19 years. There are 280 pupils who have a wide variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities including pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities, severe learning difficulties, moderate difficulties and those with Autism. Some pupils also have social, emotional and mental health difficulties associated with their learning difficulties.

Essential: Qualified Teacher status and some experience or knowledge of children with learning difficulties

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Enthusiasm, flexibility, a commitment to high quality education and good teaching skills
  • An interest in working with pupils across the whole spectrum of needs
  • A commitment to developing inclusive practice - both within the school and with other schools
  • Ability to plan, assess, record and implement individualised learning programmes for children
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and Child Protection; knowledge of how to work appropriately with children; knowledge of actions to be taken where there are concerns
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to contribute to the strong ethos within the school, the department and the class
  • Excellent communication skills- both written and verbal
