Job description

Job Title: SEN Teacher

Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Contract Type: 2.5 days a week (class share) - temporary to permanent job

Starts: ASAP

Are you a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding role teaching pupils aged 11-19? Teaching Personnel are working with a specialist SEN school in Aylesbury that provide brilliant education for children and young people with a range of complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), who are looking for an enthusiastic teacher to join their team.

About the role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to pupils with additional needs, developing and adapting learning materials to need individual's needs.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure personalised learning plans are met.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.

Person specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEN.
  • Strong knowledge of strategies to support pupils with SEND, PMLD and SLD or other additional needs.
  • Experience or qualification in personal care, manual handling, medical and autism.
  • Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEN.
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Two recent references (covering the past 24 months).
  • Overseas Police Check (if applicable – for those who have lived abroad for 3+ months in the past 5 years).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
