Class Teacher Required (SEN Specialist) – September 2025 Start

Location: Shepherd’s Bush, London
Salary: MPS/UPS (Teacher Pay Scale, dependent on experience)

We are seeking an exceptional Class Teacher to start in September 2025 at a leading specialist school for autistic pupils in Shepherd’s Bush.

Whether you're an experienced SEN practitioner or an outstanding mainstream teacher looking to specialise, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to lead a small, supportive class team in delivering a bespoke, engaging, and highly differentiated curriculum.

The Role:

As a Class Teacher, you will:

  • Lead a nurturing class team to support pupils' individual learning needs.

  • Deliver a tailored curriculum that promotes academic progress, social communication, and emotional regulation.

  • Foster confidence, independence, and lifelong skills in neurodiverse learners.

  • Work within a multidisciplinary team, including Speech & Language and Occupational Therapists.

  • Contribute to a low-arousal, autism-friendly environment where wellbeing is prioritised.

We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or working towards)
  • Experience working with autistic pupils (SEND experience highly desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and adaptive teaching strategies
  • A passion for supporting neurodiverse children and young people
  • Understanding of autism-specific approaches (e.g., SCERTS, TEACCH, Zones of Regulation)
  • High expectations for pupil progress and a commitment to inclusion
  • Excellent communication, resilience, and teamwork skills

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience in a special school or specialist provision
  • Ability to support emotional regulation and complex behaviours with empathy
  • Experience in mentoring or leading staff
