SEN Teacher – Romford

Teaching Personnel are recruiting an experienced, resilient, and personable SEN Teacher to join a special school in Romford for students aged 3-11 years. This is a long-term position (full-time).

Job Specification

  • The class will be following an informal curriculum. Strategies need to be in place for all learners.
  • Work closely with LSA’s to ensure that they are aware of the needs of pupils with social communication needs in their class You will be teaching a Ks1 class of 8 students with mixed complex SEN needs including ASD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties.  Many have sensory processing needs and will display some challenging behaviour.
  •  Provide advice and curriculum support so that pupils with ASC + SLD can access a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Manage members of the ASC provision team and work closely with the other staff to ensure effective service delivery.

Person specification:

  • Qualified teacher with SEN experience.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing strategies for students with SEN.
  • Passionate commitment to the academic, personal, and social development of young people with a range of complex SEN.
  • Demonstrate consistent and effective planning of lessons to meet students differing learning need
  • Ideally has experience teaching SEN students.
  • Has a DBS on the update service and has right to work in the UK!
