SEN Teacher

Teaching Personnel in partnership with local SEN provisions in and around the Blackpool area are looking to hire an SEN Teacher to cover short-term absence in the new academic year.

  • QTS is required with experience working in an SEN provision.
  • Experience in SEN Provision desirable however not essential.
  • Primary and/ Secondary trained encouraged to apply!
  • Competitive rate of pay (£100-£160 per day).

The role

The role is available on a full-time basis with a view to start on Monday 4th September up until the end of the academic year. The role is available due to a scheduled absence within school.

As a teacher working within an SEN provision, you will be required to be able to differentiate your teaching to meet the needs of each of your pupils whilst following their EHC and IEP plans. The pupils in your care all need additional support both in their educational and overall development, meaning your teaching needs to be nurturing and easily adaptable. Some pupils may display challenging behaviours, you will need to be able to work in a high-pressured environment remaining calm and professional throughout, always putting your pupils needs first.

The school

This is a specialist provision; it caters for pupils aged 5-18 years who all require additional support in their educational and overall development. The provision aims to equip its pupils with essential life skills whilst supporting them to further develop their education and achieve their full potential.  Class sizes are small around 6-10 pupils per class. All pupils are offered intervention support groups both for their holistic and educational development, these interventions aim to provide the pupils with further 1:1 support in a specific area that they may need to develop or additional support in. The intervention sessions are both to support the behavioural, personal, educational, and physical needs of all pupils. All pupils at this provision have either and EHC or IEP plan that needs to be followed to ensure each of their needs are being met by yourself and all support staff, the plans need to be followed by all and implemented through your planning and teaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
