Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

  • Would you like to work in an Ofsted rated 'good' SEN primary school?
  • Are you able to start work in South Croydon immediately?
  • Do you want to work with the most inspiring young people in education?
  • Do you have experience with or the right attitude and enthusiasm to work with children who have special needs?

Two large primary schools that cater for students with profound and multiple learning difficulties, including moderate to severe autism need teaching assistants for an immediate start.

What they need

  • It would be beneficial if you have experience of working with children with special needs, however it is not essential. I would also welcome an application from you if you have experience working in the care sector as many of the skills are transferable.
  • There are positions available in early years and across key stages 1 and 2, supporting the class teacher and working collaboratively with other teaching assistants.
  • Relevant training in Makaton, PECS, moving and handling, first aid or safeguarding is desirable, however not essential. Once registered with Teaching Personnel you will be eligible to book yourself onto any of the training courses that we offer, which will either be free or at a reduced cost.
  • There are full and part-time roles available including day to day work for people who need more flexibility.

What they offer

  • Extensive training offered to all staff.
  • Accredited CPD courses and other benefits.
  • Opportunities for aspiring staff to go on to teacher training.

In addition the schools are well served by bus and train with parking available too. To find out more about this role, or to apply for it, contact Louise in the London Bridge office using the contact details provided.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
