Autism Support Worker

Poole

Immediate start flexible working

£10-12 per hour

Teaching Personnel work in partnership with secondary schools in the Poole area, looking for extra support within their ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) provision.  The schools can offer adhoc work as well as long term or part time positions.

Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally ASD, is extremely desirable even if not within a classroom setting. Even experience from one’s personal life is very relevant and attractive to schools.

The role would primarily involve working with students on a 1:1 basis, but leading smaller groups may also be requested. This would occur within mainstream lessons, but specifically working with EHCP students to help them achieve their individual targets.

Part the of the role involves supporting students with their wider development, such as their ability to build positive relationships with those around them. Attending school trips, excursions and activities would also be part of the job.

If this does not sound suitable for you, we also have plenty of other support roles available. These involve working with students 1:1 but not SEN specific. Furthermore, those looking to take on more responsibility and lead a whole class would be great for the wealth of cover supervisor bookings we receive.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
