Are you looking for a new teaching assistant position for September 2018?

Do you have experience supporting children with autism?

A lovely primary school located in Southwark are looking to recruit an exceptional member of support staff for their autism resource base. There are currently 16 children in the resource base, split into two classes, and they represent a range of abilities from low functioning non-verbal to high functioning verbal.

They have a vacancy for a teaching assistant to take on a full time role at the school, working Monday to Friday during term time and the hours are 08:30am - 15:30pm daily. You will be required to support children on both a 1:1 and small group basis, and must be confident to lead small group sessions delivering work set by the class teacher focussing on numeracy, literacy, communication and social interaction.

Ability to use PECs, Makaton or British Sign Language is highly desirable and previous experience of working with autism, either in a school or alternative setting, is essential.
