SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Aylesbury
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £89.38 – £98 per day

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We’re looking for a caring, dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming school community in the Aylesbury area from January 2026.


About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You’ll work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to provide tailored support and create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.


Key Responsibilities

✅ Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN
✅ Support the development and delivery of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
✅ Create a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment
✅ Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing feedback with staff and parents
✅ Support behaviour and emotional regulation using positive strategies


About You

Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential
Patient, empathetic and adaptable in your approach
️ Strong communication skills and a great team player
Confident following direction while using your own initiative
Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
