About the Job:
This special school in Richmond are seeking SEN support workers or those with 1:1 SEN experience to work across their primary and secondary departments. Pupils within the school are all diagnosed with a special educational need and will have an education, health and care plan. Each pupil will have an individual learning and therapy programme which the successful applicant will implement daily.
Having confidence with these needs and being open to additionally supporting with personal care or moving and handling will be vital.
You will be a valued part of the team providing a safe and engaging educational environment which celebrates the uniqueness of every child.
About the Special School (Hampton)
This Special School is in Hampton in the London Borough of Richmond and is part of trust of 3 special schools in the area.
This school has both a primary, secondary and off-site centre for SEN pupils in a local mainstream secondary school. Pupils have moderate learning difficulties, many of whom have additional complex needs, including autism.
- Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in January 2019
- ages four to 16
- 140 pupils
- Girls and boys
- On-site therapy team, soft playroom, sensory room and outdoor learning provision
- A maximum of eight students in a class
- Special school established for over 20 years and joined a successful special school trust in 2016
This special school are seeking a professional who is:
- Experienced as a support worker or with 1:1 SEN support
- Confidence using SEN support skills to work with children in special education
- Available full-time for work in Hampton, Richmond
- Able to support with personal care (toileting), hoisting, moving and handling and/or medical administration
- Additional experience with Makaton, visual timetables, SCERTs, Attention Autism, intensive interaction, cued articulation and TEACCH is highly beneficial
