SEN support Teaching Assistant - Bury

Teaching Personnel is currently working with a partner primary school in Prestwich, looking for a teaching assistant with experience working with pupils with special educational needs. This role will be starting in May 2019 and will carry on until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of carrying on in September.

The role will be supporting a child on a 1:1 basis in Year 1 with low functioning Autism and speech and language communication needs. The Head teacher requires a nurturing and experienced teaching assistant to support the child's emotional needs in and out of the class room. As the pupil has been struggling to communicate their needs, they sometimes become frustrated and has shown challenging behaviour in the class room. Due to this, the successful candidate must have previous experience working with pupils with special educational needs either in a class room or youth setting.

  • May 2019
  • ÂŁ270 - ÂŁ300 a week
  • Prestwich, Bury (M25) Primary School

As a 1:1 teaching assistant, you will be supporting the teacher by ensuring the pupil fully understands the instructions of the work and is able to access the curriculum at a suitable level. This will be a hugely rewarding role supporting a happy pupil who needs support within the class room.

The School:

This vibrant Prestwich primary school is in the centre of the local community with excellent transport links and has a strong focus on every child reaching their full potential in and out of school. The school has a supportive and very approachable atmosphere and the Head teacher believes in continual professional development, sending staff on various training courses to enable all staff to develop their careers further.

This role will start straight away so please send your CV or call the Manchester West Primary branch on 0161 242 1792 for more information.
