We are working with a Specialist provision in North Hampshire who is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support their pupils within the classroom. The school caters for Primary and Secondary aged pupils with moderate to complex learning needs. Some pupils also have additional needs such as sensory, physical, medical, social or emotional difficulties.
You will be required to support pupils alongside a class Teacher and 2 or 3 Teaching Assistants. You will support pupils’ development towards their Learning Goals within a continuous provision environment. As well as supporting access to learning, you will also facilitate activities designed to develop pupils’ emerging skills in communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development.
As an experienced candidate, you will have a firm understanding of working with additional needs, and as the school cater for a wide age range, you will be expected to assist pupils of different ages who will require support. You will therefore need to be confident and flexible working across all classes, and you will need to have the ability to react quickly to a variety of situations.
The school have been rated Outstanding in their recent Ofsted report, and are very welcoming of new staff. They require a TA who is able to be proactive, is willing and able to muck in wherever needed, and someone is capable of using their initiative.
The school hours are 09:00 - 15:30 each day, and they are very welcoming of a trial day in order for prospective staff to gauge their suitability to the environment.
