SEN Secondary Tutor – Luton
- Excellent rates of pay
- Flexible work patterns
- Full-time and part-time opportunities
- Continuous Professional Development opportunities through Teaching Personnel
Teaching Personnel are working alongside the Northamptonshire County Council and local Virtual Schools to recruit for several experienced tutors to provide one-to-one support and tailored learning programmes to secondary pupils with Special Educational Needs within the Luton area.
In addition to offering a more flexible work balance and the ability to manage your own diary, with competitive rates of pay, one-to-one tuition provides pupils who struggle to engage with a more effective and personal approach to their learning, tailored specifically to support their needs.
The roles we have available are on a full-time or part-time basis and involve tutoring and supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs, backgrounds and abilities, across key stage 3 and 4. This may at times mean you will be working with individuals with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties, social and emotional mental health needs, or a combination of these difficulties.
We are looking for candidates who are passionate and feel they can effectively engage these pupils with their learning, helping to boost their knowledge and understanding of Maths and English in particular, bridging the gap and allowing them to excel.
We are seeking candidates with the following:
- Hold QTS/NQT status, or alternative, equivalent qualifications or have relevant experience
- Have or would be willing to obtain a valid DBS
- Confident in teaching core Maths and English across key stage 3 and 4
- Have experience of working within a SEN environment, working with pupils with complex needs
- Have experience of behavioural management
- Consider themselves to be both flexible and adaptable
- Have appropriate additional training and qualifications for the role
- Find it rewarding to make an impact and better the learning experience for pupils that struggle to engage
