SEN Primary Teacher-
Location- CF64, Penarth
Salary- £172.98/ day
Contract- Full time
About the role-
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEN teacher in one of our schools based in Penarth. This role includes teaching primary students with additional learning needs (ALN). You will be delivering a variety of subjects across their curriculum alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure communication and regulation strategies are fully incorporated. Unlike mainstream teaching, this role requires an understanding of utilising a sensory curriculum to cater for young learners with sensory impairments or difficulties. An adaptive teaching approach and a willingness to expand yourunderstandings is essential for this role.
We are looking for-
- Individuals with experience teaching in SEN schools.
- Applicants with an in-depth understanding of ALN and how to cater to them via teaching plans and independent learning plans.
- Individuals able to stimulate interest and enjoyment in learning whilst encouraging the growth of a nurturing and safe environment.
- An individual who remains calm and empathetic during high-pressure situations that may arise in the classroom.
About the school-
The school is based in Penarth and has a pupil base of 500 approx. ranging from ages 3-19 all with ALN. The school is pushing to new heights in the SEN education sector due to its award-winning innovation in incorporating technology into its teaching curriculum to aid student participation and communication in lessons.
Although the school is fast-paced and high-pressure you will always have unconditional support from your fellow teachers and learning support staff.
The school is committed to supporting and developing their teachers just as much as their students, with frequent training evenings and additional courses available to take your teaching skills to the next level. Progression within our SEN school is not just expected but actively encouraged.
Requirements-
- Hold a Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or in the process of completing.
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Child and Adult Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- Professional references covering the previous 24 months of employment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
