SEN Learning Support Assistant – Liverpool
Location: Liverpool
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Long-term and Permanent Roles Available
Hours: Full-time (term-time)
Teaching Personnel is working with a supportive SEN setting and mainstream schools with specialist provisions across Liverpool to appoint a committed SEN Learning Support Assistant for a September 2026 start.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You’ll play a key role in helping students access learning and build confidence in the classroom.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assisting the class teacher with tailored learning activities
- Supporting pupils with academic, social, and emotional development
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
This role is ideal for candidates who:
- Have experience working with children or young people (school-based or care settings)
- Are patient, nurturing, and resilient
- Are seeking a long-term or permanent opportunity within SEN education
Essential requirements:
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essential, as training and support will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
