SEN Learning Support Assistant

Tameside
Contract: Full-time, Temporary in the first instance
Start date: ASAP

Teaching Personnel are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our partner school in Tameside as soon as possible. (January 2019)

Our partner school is a highly reputable secondary school located in the borough of Tameside with just over 800 pupils on roll. Our partner school is an Ofsted graded 'Good' school, graded as good in all areas including effectiveness of leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for pupils. As mentioned in this report, pupils are polite, courteous and extremely respectful. Leadership of learning support is strong and, as a result, all pupils are supported and helped to overcome any difficulties with their learning or behaviour.

The school offers an inclusive admissions policy to all students with Special Educational Needs providing specialist support with the help of the schools SENCO, Assistant SENCO, Learning Support Manager, Behaviour Intervention Manager, Mind Counsellor, Behaviour Mentors and Learning Support Assistants. Due to a staffing gap within the department, the school now has a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to join the school from January 2019 until the end of the academic year in the first instance.

We are seeking an inspirational individual with a positive attitude and the tenacity to ensure an equitable education for all. We are particularly looking for someone with experience of working with children with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will be able to work alongside the class teachers and in small group settings to delivery learning experiences in a stimulating environment.
