SEN Learning Support Assistant – Newbury Area

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive and inclusive school community in the Newbury area. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, both within and outside the classroom

Collaborate with class teachers to adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs
-
Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes student engagement
-
Track student progress and contribute to reports for staff and parents/carers
-
Encourage the development of social skills, independence, and self-confidence in pupils
Ideal Candidate Profile:
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable (not essential)
-
Patient, empathetic, and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting learning
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
A proactive and flexible approach to challenges
-
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent) are an advantage

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
