Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with an ‘outstanding’ OFSTED-rated Primary school based in the London borough of Islington who have reached out to us to source an experienced one to one Learning Support Assistant to work with a student in Key Stage 1 on a full-time basis.

The school have over five hundred pupils on roll and need someone who has a robust mentality and experience working with students in a primary education capacity across either Key Stage 1 or Early Years.

The suitable candidate will hold an enhanced child workforce DBS which is registered on the update service, although Teaching Personnel can facilitate that for you should you not currently have one.

The pupil in question has severe ASC needs and requires additional support throughout the school day, a background working with SEN, specifically ASC and SEMH would be hugely beneficial for this position.

This position is a long-term role with the option to go permanent should the suitable candidate fulfil all the required duties to a sufficient standard.

What you’ll be doing:

- Supporting the pupil on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day

- Monitoring behaviour 

- Supporting the pupil with classwork set out by the teacher 

- Monitoring progress of classwork 

- Supporting the class teacher with the daily running of the class

Requirements:

  •  Have experience working with primary school pupils on a 1:1 basis
  •  Experience working with KS3, 4 or 5 pupils
  •  Hold either a degree or a teaching assistant qualification
  •  Experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour
  •  Background in care
  •  Hold a valid up to date clean DBS check on the update service
  •  UK address and right to work
