1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant (No Experience Required)

Locations: Bristol, Bath & Gloucestershire
Contract: Full-time, term time
Pay: £89–£100 per day

Do you want a role where your presence genuinely matters? Teaching Personnel is seeking caring, reliable individuals to support pupils with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis. This is a meaningful opportunity to help children aged 5–16 feel supported, understood, and confident in their learning.

Students you’ll work with may have a range of needs, including mental health challenges, physical disabilities, communication difficulties, or behavioural needs. You don’t need formal qualifications — what matters most is empathy, patience, and a willingness to learn


About the Role

  • Start: ASAP (ongoing throughout the academic year)

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, term time only

  • Hours: Typically 8:30am–3:30pm (may vary by school)

  • Progression: Potential for a permanent contract


Your Day-to-Day

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support to help a pupil access learning

  • Work alongside the class teacher to adapt activities to individual needs

  • Support Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

  • Build a trusting, consistent relationship that helps pupils feel safe and motivated

  • Assist with classwork, routines, and emotional regulation


Who We’re Looking For

  • A genuine interest in supporting children and young people

  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication skills ️

  • Experience with children is helpful but not essential — full support and training provided

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
