Job description

 SEN Learning Support Assistant – Full Time

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester 
Contract: Full time, Monday to Friday, long-term

We are currently working with a specialist secondary school in Bury who are looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is a long-term opportunity supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, communication difficulties and learning challenges.

The school is well-established and places a strong emphasis on consistency, routine and building positive relationships to support pupils both academically and emotionally.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working closely with pupils throughout the school day, supporting them to access lessons and remain engaged in a structured environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing targeted 1:1 support for pupils who require additional assistance
  • Supporting small group activities within the classroom
  • Assisting with lesson delivery and adapting resources where necessary
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
  • Encouraging independence and positive engagement

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with pupils with SEN or additional needs
  • A calm, consistent and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships
  • Available to work full time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
