SEN HLTA – Halifax (HX)

£100–£120 per day
Full-Time | Long-Term/Short-Term | Temp-to-Perm

We are seeking an experienced and confident SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming specialist school in Halifax (HX area). The setting supports pupils aged 7–16 with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH).

Role Overview:

  • Deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions across core subjects.

  • Provide cover supervision and classroom support in the absence of the teacher.

  • Assist with planning and adapting lessons to meet a variety of learning needs.

  • Support behaviour management and pastoral development of pupils.

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to ensure pupils reach their potential.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).

  • Previous experience in a SEN or specialist setting.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

  • Full-time availability and a proactive, nurturing approach.
