SEN HLTA – Halifax (HX)
£100–£120 per day
Full-Time | Long-Term/Short-Term | Temp-to-Perm
We are seeking an experienced and confident SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming specialist school in Halifax (HX area). The setting supports pupils aged 7–16 with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH).
Role Overview:

Deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions across core subjects.

Provide cover supervision and classroom support in the absence of the teacher.

Assist with planning and adapting lessons to meet a variety of learning needs.
-
Support behaviour management and pastoral development of pupils.
-
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to ensure pupils reach their potential.
Requirements:
-
HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).

Previous experience in a SEN or specialist setting.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-
DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
-
Full-time availability and a proactive, nurturing approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
