SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel are currently working with specialist SEN school based in Stoke-on-Trent who are currently looking for a SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start in January 2026. The school are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where all students feel valued and supported. Working closely with external agencies, families and carers, the school takes on a collaborative and proactive approach delivering high quality learning experiences.
About the role:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN HLTA to work with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties.
You will play a key role in:
- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis
- Delivering targeted interventions and differentiated learning activities
- Assisting with EHCP planning and reviews
- Working closely with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
- Promoting independence, inclusion, and confidence in all learners
Requirements:
- Level 5 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent SEN-related qualification
- Proven experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting
- Knowledge of EHCP processes and strategies for supporting a range of additional needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
