HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) – SEN Focus
Location: Slough
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, One-Year Fixed-Term (Potential to Go Permanent)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

A well-respected and inclusive primary academy in Slough is looking for a dedicated and experienced HLTA to join their team in September 2025. This is a full-time role focused on supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN), with responsibilities that include planning and leading learning activities.

This position is offered on a one-year fixed-term contract, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

About the Role:

  • Deliver and plan high-quality learning activities for individuals and small groups of pupils with SEN.

  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and support staff to ensure consistent and effective learning provision.

  • Contribute to the development of personalised learning plans and monitor pupil progress.

  • Support classroom routines and provide occasional whole-class cover when required.

Ideal Candidate:

  • HLTA status or equivalent experience in a similar role within a school setting.

  • Experience supporting children with a range of SEN, including planning and delivering differentiated activities.

  • Confident in working independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Committed to fostering an inclusive, positive, and nurturing environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
