HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) – SEN Focus
Location: Slough
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, One-Year Fixed-Term (Potential to Go Permanent)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
A well-respected and inclusive primary academy in Slough is looking for a dedicated and experienced HLTA to join their team in September 2025. This is a full-time role focused on supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN), with responsibilities that include planning and leading learning activities.
This position is offered on a one-year fixed-term contract, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
About the Role:

Deliver and plan high-quality learning activities for individuals and small groups of pupils with SEN.

Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and support staff to ensure consistent and effective learning provision.

Contribute to the development of personalised learning plans and monitor pupil progress.

Support classroom routines and provide occasional whole-class cover when required.
Ideal Candidate:
-
HLTA status or equivalent experience in a similar role within a school setting.

Experience supporting children with a range of SEN, including planning and delivering differentiated activities.

Confident in working independently and as part of a collaborative team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
