Experienced SEN Support Assistant Required for Specialist School in Sheffield

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a Specialist SEN Schools in Sheffield. We are currently working hard to build the SEN business in a variety of educational settings and therefore need skilled candidates that are looking for work within this field. We would like to recruit teaching assistants that are experienced or who have an interest in teaching children who are on the Autistic spectrum and have associated behaviours. Your role will also include supporting pupils requiring additional support with communication, including those pupils with a mechanical system of communication and PECS. You may also be required to use British Sign Language and/or Makaton, (a form of sign language for SEN pupils) so training in either of these would be beneficial.



You will have strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff, social workers, speech and language therapists and educational psychologists. You will be organised, patient and confident, with an understanding of meeting the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people with Special Educational Needs.
