Primary SEN Teachers needed within York and surrounding areas

  • Competitive rates paid weekly through PAYE starting at £120* per day

Teaching Personnel are looking for experienced SEN Primary Teachers for long term and temporary work for a number of provisions providing education for pupils not in mainstream education or for those attending Special Educational Needs Schools.

About the role:

A number of Special Educational Needs teachers are specifically employed to work with children and young people who need extra support, or require an advanced programme of learning in order to reach their full educational potential.

SEN teachers may work with individuals who have learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments (i.e. hearing or visual), speech and language difficulties and conditions such as autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, or have a combination of these difficulties.

As an SEN teacher you may also work with gifted and talented pupils.

The most important part of this role is using your personality to connect with the pupils and build a trusting relationship.

Some of your responsibilities may include:

-tutoring on a one-to-one basis, small groups or full classroom teaching

-preparing lessons according to their capabilities

-liaising with other professionals, such as social workers

-behaviour management

Teaching Personnel will support you throughout your career by:
