KS3- SEN- Secondary- Rochdale

  • - Do you have qualified teacher status (QTS) and a passion for supporting pupils with SEN?
  • - Are you looking for an opportunity to work within a ‘good’ special school?
  • - Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance your professional development and access specialist training?

Fulltime position beginning in September 2017 for a qualified teacher who can demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting the ongoing development of pupils with SEN. The position is initially a temporary position for the first term September- October 2017, however there could be an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate.

The school is a special needs setting and currently has 253 pupils enrolled. The pupils who attend the school are aged 11-19 and have a range of additional learning needs which may include: multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, social, emotional needs and mental health needs. Ideally the teacher will have an in-depth understanding of the importance of differentiation and know how to adapt their teaching methods to assure that learning is accessible to all pupils. We will consider applications from fully qualified teachers who can demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for supporting the optimal development of pupils with SEN.

The ideal teacher would have:

- Qualified Teacher Status

- A commitment to supporting the optimal development of pupils with SEN

- Team Teach training (desirable)

- A commitment to assuring that pupils can achieve their optimal educational potential

- An in-depth understanding and awareness of safeguarding procedures
