Job description

Teaching Personnel are helping to recruit a motivated and experienced Family Engagement Officer to join a client behaviour provision based in Aberdare. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with families to build strong partnerships and increase student attendance in our schools. The candidate will work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and community partners to create and implement strategies that ensure student success through increased attendance and family engagement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement family engagement and attendance strategies

- Create and conduct parent workshops, events, and activities

- Build positive relationships with parents, students, and community partners

- Analyse attendance data and develop action plans to improve student attendance

- Ensure school-day attendance and respond to absences, tardiness, and truancy

- Provide outreach and support services for students at risk of low attendance

- Engage parents and families with communication channels such as newsletters, text messaging, and social media

- Build and maintain a database of community resources for families

- Provide culturally responsive services to diverse families

- Attend school events, team meetings, and other required meetings

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or related field (Desired)

- Comprehensive understanding of family engagement and attendance strategies

- Strong organizational and analytical skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Knowledge of community resources and services

- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse audiences

- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
