SEMH Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are an enthusiastic and pro-active person to support a Key Stage Three pupil on a 1:1 basis in a school in Plymouth. The school caters for children who are no longer in mainstream education. The role is to support a pupil with social, emotional and mental health difficulties on a 1:1 basis with their school work and social engagement. It is to start in September 2019, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, term time only.

Experience is not necessary and candidates with backgrounds in care work, counselling, support work and youth work are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate MUST:

• Have a full, clean driving licence with access to a car daily
• Have a NVQ Level 3 minimum in Health and Social Care or similar
• Be available immediately with ability to carry out a long-term role
• Be passionate about working with children and supporting learning and welfare

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £44, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.
