A School in East Lancashire are seeking a Teaching Assistant to offer support to a pupil with very challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis.

The school provides an educational provision for children from age five to eleven who have been permanently excluded or who are at risk of permanent exclusion. The pupils may sometimes express challenging behaviour therefore you must have experience in this area and be understanding and supportive of the difficulties pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties face.

The ideal candidates will:

"    Maintain firm boundaries in a calm non-threatening manner

"    Work to develop positive relationships 

"    Break learning into manageable tasks

"    Give positive and constructive feedback to the child

"    Support, guide and nurture the pupil.



The school are ideally looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing individual.

The role is to start ASAP until Easter, with a view to continuing.

You must be Team Teach trained to apply and the school cannot consider any candidate with a caution or conviction on their DBS.
