Our client is a Therapeutic setting, both residential and educational, for boys and girls who experience social, emotional and mental health challenges, who may also experience more complex difficulties, including those on the autistic spectrum.

The school, which has capacity for 46 pupils, has superb teaching and residential facilities. Outdoor areas include full-size football pitches, all-weather basketball courts and a Sports Centre with multi-gym. Within the school there are extensive specialist facilities including a Design & Technology Workshop, Theatre and Drama Suite and a Beauty Salon, painting and decorating suite and conference facilities which are available for all of their pupils to enjoy.

Maximum class size is 6 pupils and they have nurture classes as well as ‘mini mainstream’ setting - expectations of pupils are high, they have the capacity to achieve highly in core subjects and are encouraged to ‘aim high’

Ofsted graded the school as ‘Good’ –commenting that all of the young people are engaged in education and are making very good progress. Young people are fully involved in their education choices and as a result they maintain good attendance at school and other educational settings.

The school also offers children a range of support to promote their emotional health and well being.

We have a demand for Teaching Assistants at this school - both for long term roles and short term supply assignments. The pupils here can display some extremely challenging behaviour, so you must be prepared for this, and be able to support the staff team with managing this positively - Physical Intervention training would be an advantage.

The staff team are welcoming and supportive, this is a great team to be part of and a fantastic opportunity!
