SEMH Teacher

We currently looking for a Teacher to assist in a school for pupils aged 10-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is a full time position beginning in January 2021.

Your role as an SEMH Teacher would be to create lesson to meet the learners needs. This would include a curriculum based around academic and social progression. You would create lessons aimed to allow the young people to express themselves in a practical and easy way, as well as design tasks to help the young people succeed in their lives beyond the school with a key focus on independent living skills. 

As a successful SEMH Teacher at this school you must have:

• Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
• Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous
• QTS / QTLS or relevant experience
• Experience teaching across subjects including; ICT, English and Maths

This role demands motivation, passion, patience and the ability to emotionally support children who are from vulnerable backgrounds and situations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
