SEMH Teacher

SEN Teacher Required in Mansfield – Full Time November Start

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a tutor in the NG18 area to teach KS4 to a student with severe Anxiety, Depression and Agoraphobia. Due to his SEMH, the student is unable to attend school, and therefore the 1:1 tuition will occur in the home. The student is working at their age-expected level and currently studying GCSE English, Maths and Science, as well as Spanish, History, RE and Business Studies. Addition to providing academic tuition, the tutor will be expected to provide social and emotional support.

About the Role:

• 1:1 Tuition for a Year 10 student with SEMH
• 25 hours a week
• In person, in the student’s home
• Working materials and resources will need to be provided by the tutor
• Focus on cross-curricular academic work, and providing additional social and emotional support

Who we are looking for:

• People who are comfortable lone working and communicating with parents
• Previous experience working with SEMH students
• Tutors who can plan, produce, and teach cross-curricular lessons at GCSE level, as well as provide additional social and emotional support

Requirements:

• Teacher with QTS
• Previous experience teaching KS4
• Experience of teaching and working with children with SEN or SEMH
• Child workforce DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel)
