Job description

Are you passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to education?
Are you a qualified teacher — newly qualified or experienced — ready to make a meaningful impact in an alternative setting?

Teaching Personnel is working with a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in Leigh, supporting students aged 13 to 21. This unique setting offers an alternative route for students unable to access mainstream education. They are seeking a committed and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join their team from September, working Monday to Thursday.

  • Newly Qualified Teachers (ECTs) looking to begin a meaningful teaching career

  • Experienced teachers seeking a fresh and rewarding challenge

  • Teachers with a passion for inclusive education and resilience in the classroom


The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS or QTLS (NQTs/ECTs encouraged to apply)

  • Have a passion for working with students with SEMH needs

  • Be confident managing behaviour in a nurturing and structured way

  • Be adaptable and open to teaching core or foundation subjects

  • Be resilient, patient, and committed to inclusive education

  • Be available Monday to Thursday, 08:30–16:30


Role Responsibilities:

  • Delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to meet diverse needs

  • Supporting students’ academic, emotional, and social development

  • Collaborating with support staff and external agencies

  • Creating a calm, supportive learning environment

  • Promoting positive relationships and consistent routines

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
