Core Subject Teacher Required for Stockport School

My client is a newly Ofsted recognised independent school that offers full time education to learners aged 13 to 16 with a vocational interest based in Stockport and they are seeking to employ core subject teachers. They predominantly work with learners who have an education and health care plan and have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Many of the learners are in care and have had difficult experiences in life that have meant they do not tolerate traditional school environments. Therefore their aim is to provide a bespoke and creative learning programme that will initially engage reluctant learners and then through small steps work with them towards recognised qualifications and a clear pathway to post 16 education. On site they have facilities to deliver the core subjects up to GSCE and sports and construction to BTEC level. With their external providers we also offer social care, child care, music (production and performance), game design, bicycle mechanics and animal care up to GCSE equivalent. Each learner will have an individual learning programme agreed and you as a core subject teacher will play a pivotal role in providing them with the skills to achieve this.

The school requires teachers that can deliver core subjects up to GCSE level. Experience of functional skills delivery and entry level would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be required to assess and then plan individual routes through to qualification for each learner. The most you will be expected to teach in a class is three learners, with support staff present. The school is registered for 15 learners overall.

Pay rate for this role is between £110 and £130 per day
