SEMH Support Assistant

Job description

A Specialist SEN School in Cambridgeshire is recruiting for an experienced SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health) Assistant to start immediately. You will be joining an extremely experienced and efficient team of Support Assistants and will be required to work with pupils who can display very challenging behaviour.

You may be asked to support pupils 1:1 or in small groups. Due to the nature of this role we are ideally looking a resilient, empathetic and patient Support Assistant with previous experience supporting students with SEMH either in a school setting or through Youth or Support work.

Ideal training/ qualifications (not essential)

Level 2 or 3 TA qualification

A Degree in Child Development/ Psychology/ Criminology etc

NVQ in Support work or Youth work

Team Teach Training or Step on/ up training

Managing Challenging Behaviour

Any drug or Alcohol abuse training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
