Teaching Personnel is currently seeking to appoint a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school based in Portsmouth. This is a term-time only position, offering a valuable opportunity to contribute to the education and development of pupils with additional social and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups

Assist the class teacher in the delivery of personalised learning strategies

Support pupils in managing behaviour and developing emotional regulation

Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

Candidate Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH or SEN (Special Educational Needs) setting

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils

Willingness to undergo a DBS check, or current registration with the update service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
