SEMH (Behaviour) Teaching Assistant wanted!

I am currently recruiting for a specialist school for young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties based in Nuneaton who are looking to employ a Teaching Assistant to work on a long term basis within their school. The school caters for young people with a mixture of Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges and therefore do display a mixture of challenging behaviours.

The general role of the successful Teaching assistant within this school will be to maintain engagement and help the young people make social and educational progress. The main goal of the successful Teaching Assistants will be building positive relationship with the young people as many have become disillusioned with education.

The successful candidates will ideally have experience working with young people displaying challenging behaviour within an educational setting. Although applicants from a: youth work, sporting, residential care background will also be considered. Due to having 'the right personality' being essential in this school, candidates with no direct experience will also be considered.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
