1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEMH) Full-Time, September 2026 Start
Location: Birkenhead

Contract: Full-Time (Temp to Permanent Opportunity)

Teaching Personnel Liverpool are proud to be supporting a long-standing partner SEMH alternative provision in Birkenhead. We are currently seeking proactive, resilient, and outgoing 1:1 Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support both academically and emotionally. You will be working closely on a one-to-one basis with pupils, helping them to engage with their learning and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Build strong, positive relationships with students to support engagement
- Assist in managing behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
- Support the delivery of lessons and learning activities
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in an Alternative Provision or PRU setting
- Strong behaviour management skills and resilience
- A proactive and positive attitude
- Ability to build rapport and trust with young people
- Passion for supporting students with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
