Security Porter
Location: Abingdon-on-Thames, Oxfordshire
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) + Pension Scheme
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Our client, a respected public school for boys located in the historic town of Abingdon-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, is seeking a dedicated Security Porter to join their Estates and Facilities team from September 2025. This role is vital in ensuring the safety, security, and smooth running of the school site for students, staff, and visitors.
About the Role:
As a Security Porter, you will provide day-to-day security and porterage services across the school estate. Your duties will include monitoring access points, locking and unlocking buildings, responding to emergencies, supporting school events, and helping with deliveries and room setups. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a background in site services, security, or caretaking who is looking to work in a structured yet friendly setting with a strong sense of community.

What They're Looking For:

Previous experience in a similar role (security, facilities, caretaking, or logistics)

A calm and professional manner with excellent interpersonal skills

Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual handling

A flexible approach to shift patterns and occasional evening/weekend duties
-
Strong commitment to safeguarding and school values
-
A valid SIA licence is desirable but not essential (training can be provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
