The role (full time teaching) is predominantly to teach ‘catch-up’ classes in Year 7 and 8. The catch up classes are small classes of students who have come into school below the expected minimum standards in English and Maths. The role of the catch-up teacher is to liaise with the English and Maths faculties to provide a curriculum that allows these students to improve their basic literacy and numeracy skills so that, in time, they will be able to access the same curriculum as their peers.
