Contract: Full-time & Part-time opportunities
Pay: £93–£110 per day, dependent on experience and role

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work across our partner secondary schools throughout Tameside.

With a number of schools looking for additional support following the October half term, we are keen to speak with experienced Teaching Assistants as well as graduates and individuals with transferable experience who are looking to start or develop a career in education.

The Role

Depending on the school and your experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4 within the classroom

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support

  • Supporting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs

  • Helping pupils with engagement, confidence and progress

  • Providing pastoral and behaviour support

  • Working alongside teachers, SEN and pastoral teams

  • Supporting pupils across a range of curriculum subjects

Who We're Looking For

We would love to hear from:

  • Experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and SEN TAs

  • Graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology or education

  • Psychology, Education, English, Maths, Science, Humanities and other subject graduates

  • Youth workers, sports coaches and mentors with experience supporting young people

  • Individuals with experience in SEN, SEMH, behaviour or pastoral support

  • Confident and enthusiastic individuals who can build positive relationships with secondary-aged pupils

Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential for all opportunities. Relevant experience working with young people and the right attitude can be equally valuable.

Drivers are particularly encouraged to apply, as being able to travel between different areas of Tameside can open up a wider range of school opportunities. However, you do not need to drive – we are also keen to hear from candidates who use public transport and are happy to travel to different schools across the Tameside area.

Why Work With Teaching Personnel?

  • Opportunities across a range of Tameside secondary schools

  • Full-time, part-time and flexible work available

  • Short-term and long-term placements

  • Opportunities that can lead to permanent school positions

  • Weekly pay

  • Access to training and CPD

  • Support from a dedicated local secondary consultant

Whether you're an experienced TA looking for your next school or a graduate wanting to gain valuable classroom experience before teacher training, we'd love to hear from you.
