Secondary Teacher
Job description
Position: Teacher of English / Maths / Science
Contract: Full‑time, Long‑term (with potential to become permanent)
Start Date: Summer Term or September
Location: West London
Salary: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS)
About the Role
We are seeking committed and knowledgeable teachers of English, Maths and Science to join a well‑established secondary setting with a strong emphasis on high‑quality classroom practice and positive outcomes for students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The successful candidates will demonstrate secure subject knowledge, strong planning and assessment skills, and the ability to maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment. You will contribute to the development of curriculum pathways, enrichment opportunities and departmental priorities as the school continues to raise standards across the core subjects.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality lessons in line with department schemes of work
- Plan, assess and monitor progress effectively across KS3 and KS4
- Support pupils in preparation for assessments, mock examinations and GCSEs
- Contribute to a culture of high expectations and consistent routines
- Work collaboratively with the department to refine curriculum and resources
- Engage positively with pastoral teams and support wider school initiatives
- Participate in CPD, departmental meetings and whole-school training
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised overseas equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in English, Maths or Science
- Ability to deliver clear, well‑structured lessons to mixed‑ability groups
- Confident behaviour management and adherence to school policies
- Commitment to safeguarding, professional conduct and high standards
Desirable:
- Experience with GCSE specifications
- Interest in curriculum development or subject leadership
- Ability to contribute to enrichment or extra-curricular provision

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
