Secondary Support Worker

We are currently looking for an experienced candidate to act as a behaviour mentor and teaching assistant in the Tameside area.
The school we are recruiting for caters for students who are currently not in mainstream education. This may be due to challenging social and emotion problems, mental health issues or challenging behaviour.
As acting support for these children, candidates will need to help pupils to re-engage with their specially devised curriculum and find progress in their learning, as well as being a mentor to their emotional and mental well-being. Candidates with experience in support work, youth work, phsycology, SEN or counselling would be essential.
Some students may exhibit challenging behaviour, therefore candidates would also need experience or training in Team-teach/ de-escalation/ crisis management.
Teaching Personnel can offer these training courses if necessary.
