Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a secondary school based in Rochdale who are looking for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to start after October half-term. This is a great opportunity for an individual with a strong background working with young people but seeking further experience within a mainstream school.

About the role:

  • Start date: 3rd November
  • Ongoing, full-time opportunity

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be based within the schools SEN department, working collaboratively with other support staff and external agencies to support students who require additional learning support. You will provide 1-1 and small group support, this may include subject specific interventions or emotional/behavioural support. Additionally, you will provide regular updates to parents/carers on the students progress both academically, behaviourally and emotionally.

  • Strong experience working with young people (in any setting)
  • Confident and calm approach when dealing with challenging behavioural and emotional issues
  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of young people
  • Good knowledge of behavioural techniques and SEN

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
