This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly supportive setting where no two days are the same and every achievement, no matter how small, is celebrated.

About the Role

As a SEN HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting students both academically and emotionally. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams, you will lead interventions, deliver pre-planned lessons, and help create an environment where students can thrive.

You will be instrumental in helping young people develop confidence, independence, communication skills, and positive relationships both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups, and occasionally whole classes
  • Support students with a variety of SEN and additional learning needs
  • Lead targeted interventions focused on literacy, numeracy, communication, and social development
  • Adapt resources and learning materials to suit individual learning styles and abilities
  • Support students in achieving targets outlined within EHCPs
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and attendance
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and senior staff
  • Provide guidance and support to Teaching Assistants where required
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience working within an SEN, SEMH, alternative provision, or specialist education setting
  • HLTA qualification or significant experience demonstrating HLTA-level responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of SEN needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
  • Ability to lead small group and whole-class activities
