Are you passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Teaching Personnel is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning & Inclusion Mentors to support pupils within a specialist primary SEN setting in the Altrincham area.

This rewarding role involves working closely with children aged 4-11 who present with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), sensory processing difficulties, physical disabilities, and complex medical needs. Many pupils require highly personalised support to access learning, develop communication skills, build independence, and achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a SEN Learning & Inclusion Mentor, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex SEN needs.
• Encourage pupil engagement, participation, and independence throughout the school day.
• Support children with communication and interaction needs using appropriate strategies and resources.
• Assist with personalised learning activities tailored to individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Help pupils develop social, emotional, and life skills within a nurturing environment.
• Support sensory regulation and behaviour management using positive and consistent approaches.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider school staff to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
• Assist with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for every child.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN, disabilities, or additional needs.
• A patient, resilient, and caring approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Experience within education, care, youth work, support work, psychology, health care, or similar sectors is highly desirable.
• Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
