Job description

Teaching Personnel is looking for a compassionate, dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support in on our SEMH secondary schools in the Bolton area. You will be supporting young people with SEMH needs such as challenging behaviour, speech, language and communication delays, trauma, autism and mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. You will play a vital role is supporting young people’s social and academic approach.

Responsibilities

-          Take students off site and take part in days out to support their social and life skills

-          Deliver small group and 1:1 intervention to support students’ academic progress

-          Tailor learning materials to ensure they are accessible to all students

-          Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation in line with school policies

-          Promote emotional support and guidance, helping pupils manage anxiety, frustration, and other challenges

-          Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, following safeguarding and school policies at all times.

Requirements

-          Must have a valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle – mileage will be paid

-          Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

-          As this is a full-time position, Monday – Friday availability is essential

-          Prior experience in a SEMH educational setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
